Crafting a Minimalist Brand Identity for DIY Excellence
Project Overview
Client: Ideal Brico – a physical DIY store with no online presence.
Background:
At the start of their journey, the founders of Ideal Brico focused on developing a strong offline presence. They sought a minimalist brand identity that conveys clarity and trust, using a color palette dominated by green and/or orange to reflect both nature and creativity in the DIY space.
Branding Concept
Design Inspiration:
The core of the Ideal Brico brand identity is built around the use of parallel rectangles. This geometric form was chosen for its powerful and pragmatic visual appeal. The simplicity of the shape mirrors the foundational aspects of building and organizing inherent to the DIY (Do It Yourself) world.
Symbolism and Meaning:
Clarity and Structure:
The parallel rectangles are designed to communicate a sense of order and direction. Each side of the rectangle, progressing on a parallel path without intersecting, symbolizes the clear and efficient pathways that customers can follow to realize their DIY projects.Guidance and Reliability:
Just as the parallel lines maintain consistent separation and harmony, the brand identity of Ideal Brico assures customers that the store is a reliable partner. This visual strategy reinforces the message that Ideal Brico offers not only quality products but also the guidance and expertise needed to bring any project to life.Simplicity and Memorability:
The minimalist approach ensures that the message is delivered without ambiguity. The chosen symbol of parallel rectangles is both straightforward and memorable, making it instantly recognizable across various applications—from storefront signage to printed collateral.
